Meet the Artist


"In the fifth grade when my teacher put some irises in a glass and had us draw and color what we saw, I was" hooked" on art! But, the opportunity to study art seriously didn’t actually become possible until 1979. Along the way, I have been privileged to study with some of the finest master teachers, and consider the pursuit of art to be a "life’s journey."
Barbara Larimore is an artist who works in an impressionistic style, and loves the effects of light. She works in oils and pastels, working sometimes "en plein aire," and also from photos from her trips through many states and abroad. She has been greatly inspired by the French and American Impressionists. Her work incases varied subjects including landscape, waterscape, floral, and figure in landscape. Works have been accepted in many national shows, winning numerous awards, and had been featured in the Wichita Falls Times Record News. She is represented by Fredericksburg Gallery, Artplace Gallery, Rain Bird Gallery, Upper Room Gallery, and her works may be found in private collections across the United States.
